Japanese Startups Set the Stage for Future Collaborations at USM Innozilla 2024
[USM, Penang, 12 November 2024] – Leave a Nest recently facilitated the participation of Japanese startups under the AOTS (Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships) program by AMEICC (ASEAN Economic Ministers – METI Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee Japan) at the inaugural INNOZILLA 2024. Held on 6 to 7 November 2024 at Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Main Campus in Penang, this event highlighted cutting-edge technologies addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Health & Well-being, Education, Energy & Environmental Protection, and Responsible Industry & Partnerships.
Four Japanese startups—Innoqua Inc., Manebi Inc., Tenchijin Inc., and Lab Base Inc.—participated in the event as part of a seven-month support program by Leave a Nest, which spans from August 2024 to February 2025. Throughout this program, Leave a Nest provides support customized to each startup’s business stage and industry, facilitating introductions with Malaysia organizations, including conglomerates, government agencies, startups, incubators, and academic researchers, while sharing insights on local challenges and opportunities.
At INNOZILLA, the participating startups had the chance to network with leading academics, local industry experts, and government representatives, establishing valuable connections that will serve as the foundation for future collaborations in Malaysia. The event showcased notable keynote speakers and offered consultations with government bodies and potential funders, aimed at supporting innovators pursuing technology commercialization.
