Partners Empowering Yugto 2024

As Yugto Project comes back to help high school students to transition (see Yugto 2024 announcement), we are proud and grateful to announce the partners that made it possible: Focus Systems Corporation and Wela School Systems!

Focus Systems Corporation is a renowned leader in the global technology industry based in Japan, with a rich history of innovation and excellence since 1977. The company is dedicated to leveraging technology to create sustainable solutions for societal challenges as they stand for their corporate slogan “Put Our Heart into Technologies.” One of the things that Focus Systems has been putting their heart into is education, as they believe in empowering the next generation leaders, researchers and businessmen. As they recognize the potential of the youth in the Philippines, they have continuously partnered with Leave a Nest Philippines for educational projects such as Robotics Workshops and Teachers’ Seminars. In addition, they are taking the initiative to immerse and train students in technopreneurship and creating solutions for deeply-rooted problems through interdisciplinary collaboration (see Focus Systems Immersion Program). This time they are also supporting the Yugto Project to help students broaden their horizons, just like how the company has been going into interdisciplinary fields.

Wela Online Corporation (Wela School Systems) is an Edu-tech startup from Mindanao that offers an end-to-end school management system where students and parents can view their grades, announcements, and billing statements through a mobile app. They take care of the manual processes of their partner schools by automating these processes for the organization to ultimately focus on what is important: delivering quality education. Wela does not just support the administrative needs of schools, but also brings new opportunities to students to gain research experience (see Wela supporting CDO schools to join Tsunagu Research Project) and explores ways to improve the quality of education through several collaborations. ith this Yugto Project, Wela hopes to take part in giving a venue to students from their partner schools to explore their passions and future careers.

As Yugto 2024 participants explore the different degree programs offered by different universities during the event, they will also get a chance to join a short workshop with Focus Systems Corporation.

EVENT DETAILS AND TENTATIVE TIMELINE

Yugto is an initiative by Leave a Nest in the Philippines, designed to assist high school students in making informed decisions about their university degree choices. It aims to provide comprehensive insights into various degree options, especially those less known or popular, to ensure a more informed decision-making for the students and to support degree programs in their sustainability. By enlightening students about the diverse career paths and educational opportunities, Yugto seeks to align students' interests and abilities with their future academic and professional pursuits, thereby enhancing the overall educational and societal landscape.
