The NDA Signing between Euglena Co., Ltd. and Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT).

On July 14, 2022, Leave a Nest Malaysia had facilitated the signing of Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) between University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) and Euglena Co., Ltd.

In 2019, Leave a Nest Group established the Nest-Bio Venture Lab together with MJIIT and received strong supports from Japanese Biotech corporations including Euglena Co., Ltd which is a Japan based biotechnology company engaged in R&D and production of microalgae mainly Euglena, and have been collaborating on a series of educational activities since then.

The NDA has been sealed to further promote the existing collaboration between both parties. At the signing ceremony, Dr. Kengo Suzuki, Executive Officer, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and R&D Company Co-CEO of Euglena Co. said that Euglena Co. would like to accelerate the biomass production research in a Malaysian environment that has high biodiversity and is suitable for the production of useful substances such as lipids using photosynthesis.

In response, Associate Professor, Dr. Shaza Eva Mohamad, Algal Biomass iKohza of MJIIT expressed her strong will towards the cooperation and expressed their interest to contribute and develop algae research further in Malaysia through this collaboration with Euglena Co., Ltd.

Dr. Yukihiro Maru, Group CEO Leave a Nest, also added that Leave a Nest will continue to bridge both parties in line with the company’s vision of Advancing Science and Technology for Global Happiness.
